BurgerCities Announcement to Community
Metaverse has effectively grown the cryptocurrency market and broken the boundary of many businesses when Facebook changed its name to Meta in October of 2021. Many traditional Internet companies have developed a long-term strategy for this. According to reputable forecasts, the worldwide Metaverse industry will increase at a compound annual growth rate of 10% from USD 500 billion in 2020 to USD 800 billion in 2024.
We began to think about how to incorporate Web3 applications such as DeFi and NFT into Metaverse — combining Metaverse to create new space for existing Web3 applications’ growth. This market is huge, if we can occupy this track first, we will have more possibilities. So BurgerCities chose to start with MetaFi.
BurgerCities’ original 21M tokens are mainly used for incentive of BurgerSwap’s liquidity providers. So the team is debating how to best offer incentives for users of BurgerCities during the brand and function update.
BurgerCities has already launched the Alpha version. How to quickly seize the MetaFi market and achieve rapid traffic growth become the problems that our team needs to solve. So we chose to issue additional tokens as a way to incentivize users and the market for the project in the long term.
However, due to the mismatch between the progress of the product and the timing of token issuance, BurgerCities chose to issue tokens first and then announce it to our community. This approach is not well thought out and does not take into account the feelings of our community. In order to protect the benefits of the existing token holders, BurgerCities has burned all the additional tokens. We post the burning records below this announcement. The total amount of tokens has returned to the original 21M.
As a community-focused project, Burger will announce all major affairs in advance to our community and use the results of Snapshot governance voting to decide all major affairs for BurgerCities. We cherish every community partner. We are willing to grow with our community.
